Meet the Team

VANESSA AREIZA KING, MFT

Lic. No. LMFT98711

I was born in the beautiful city of Medellin, Colombia. I had the privilege of being able to grow up in a multicultural environment spending significant time in my youth in the United States, as well as Colombia and Ecuador. I received Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology from Simpson University in Redding, California. I also received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Simpson University in 2013. I completed an internship through Tehama County Head Start from 2012 to 2013 providing bilingual outpatient psychotherapy to families, individuals, and couples. I worked treating the Medi-Cal youth population in Redding, CA through Northern Valley Catholic Social Services in 2014. I then had the privilege of working in private practice under the supervision of Brandy Liebscher, Psy.D. in Woodland, CA from 2015-2017. I became fully licensed and have been working in my own private practice since March of 2017.

I provide outpatient psychotherapy services to families and individuals. My goals is to create a safe and collaborative environment within my office to assist you in identifying the emotional, psychological, and relational obstacles blocking you from reaching your full potential in your family and community. I believe my job as your therapist is to educate, explore insights, facilitate new experiences, identify new thought patterns, encourage new behaviors, and challenge you to take risks for greater levels of connection and authenticity.

Anna Christie, AMFT

MASTERS IN ART THERAPY & HEALTH EDUCATOR

Lic. No. AMFT 136042 (Supervised by Vanessa Areiza King, MFT Lic#98711)

*Serving with creativity, compassion, and care*Welcome! I’m Anna Christie (she/her), a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and art therapist with a holistic, client-centered approach. I believe healing happens through connection, creativity, and honoring each person’s unique story.

My background blends clinical training with over a decade of experience in health education and community wellness. At UCSF School of Medicine, I developed programs for youth and families and taught about pregnancy and birth, guiding families through meaningful life transitions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked with Navajo Nation to offer wellness programming.

As a therapist, I offer both talk therapy and art therapy, depending on your preferences and goals. No artistic experience is ever required—what matters most is creating a space that feels safe and meaningful to you.

I’ve provided therapy in diverse settings, including bedside support in the pediatric ICU and bone marrow transplant units at Benioff Children’s Hospital, community family clinics, and high school special education programs. Across all of these roles, my focus has been on helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in several approaches, including psychodynamic, somatic, narrative, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and client-centered therapy. I tailor each session to your unique needs and pace, creating a space where healing and growth can unfold organically.

I specialize in working with:

– ADHD (across the lifespan, with a special focus on teens and young adults)
– Sexuality, sexual identity, and LGBTQ+ experiences
– Chronic illness, disability, and medical trauma
– Grief, loss, and life transitions
– Pregnancy, pregnancy loss, and IVF

– Anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges

I bring a balance of warmth, playfulness, and depth into the therapy room. Whether you’re seeking support through a specific difficulty or simply longing to reconnect with yourself, I’d be honored to meet you where you are.

Harsimran Chase, AMFT

Lic. No. AMFT 140752 (Supervised by Vanessa Areiza King, MFT Lic#98711)

Are you looking to begin or continue on the path of healing, growth, and hope? My name is Simran and I am an associate marriage family therapist. I received my Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology at California State University, Bakersfield in 2023. I have worked with clients ranging from children to adults, individuals, couples, and groups. I have had the honor to work with individuals of various backgrounds from locally to across the world and have an appreciation of different cultures and customs. I have helped clients with concerns related to anxiety, depression, grief, sexual abuse, and interpersonal conflicts. I have a passion for learning about mental wellbeing and cultivating healthy relationships.

I believe it is a privilege to walk with others on their journey of freedom and healing. We each have a story that is deserving to be heard. Therapy can be that space to put words to our experiences and allow us to use our voices. Therapy can also be an intimidating or unfamiliar place. That is why I value to create a safe, warm, and genuine environment for my clients to explore the areas in their lives that may be difficult to talk about. Perhaps, you are longing to break free from past hurts and ready to take that next step of healing. I am here to help.
